Srinagar 19th May (KNO) : Defying strict restrictions by Police hundreds joined AIP’s protest march led by MLA Langate Er. Rasheed on occasion of Prime Minister’s visit to J&K to remind him of India’s broken promises to resolve seventy year long pending Kashmir dispute. Protesters carrying black flags, Play cards and Black balloons surfaced near Municipal Park near Jawahar Nagar and marched towards SKICC. Protesters were raising slogans asking New Delhi to stop genocide of Kashmiris and fulfill the promises made for resolution to Kashmir dispute.

On the occasion black balloons were flown in the air as a mark of protest for New Delhi’s continuous denial to resolve the dispute. Talking to media persons on the occasion Er. Rasheed said that New Delhi is misleading the world and if PM Narendra Modi really believes in his words he must give up the arrogance and agree to Right-of-Self-Determination, as promised by India itself at United Nations. Kashmiris are not enemies of India but the way New Delhi has waged a war against them it becomes evident that it has nothing to offer. Let Prime Minister move beyond words and release all political prisoners and take notice of huge atrocities on Kashmiris by police, Army and CRPF.

Let Modi Ji understand that seeking right to self determination is by no means a solution outside Indian constitution, as Nehru being the custodian of Indian constitution had promised Kashmiris Right to Self Determination. Modi ji or any other Indian Prime Minister has no moral or legal right to undo the commitment of Mr. Nehru. The UN resolutions by no means contradict with India’s interests and its constitution”. Er. Rasheed reacting to Narinder Modi’s speech at SKICC termed it disappointing, misleading and distortion of facts. He said “It makes no sense and sounds ridicules when PM says that solution to all problems lies in development. Calling those who have taken up arms in hands as misguided youth is nothing but an attempt to run away from the Kashmir dispute. Modi Ji has not spoken even a word about the resolution nor has made any offer of talks to resolve the long pending dispute.

Talking about those youth who have performed well at various levels makes no difference as PM kept criminal silence over Kashmiri youth being butchered by his forces. Rather praising J&K police he should have asked them not to act like goons and under stand the fact that J&K is a political problem and not a law and order issue”. Er. Rasheed lashed out at main stream parties and said that the criminal and apologetic silence of NC and PDP are emboldening New Delhi to take Kashmiris forgranted. It looks strange that Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti could share a joint stage with Mr. Modi but never talk to each other and as usual have again brought shame to Kashmiris by representing and strengthening New Delhi’s view point.

The protesters while marching to SKICC were stopped at Rajbagh by a heavy contingent of Police and dozens of protesters including Er. Rasheed, Zeeshan Pandith, Dr. Bari, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat , Prince Parvez, Sheeban Ashai, Javed Beigh and Fayaz Bukhari were arrested and detained in Police Station Rajbagh.
